The City of Jacksonville currently has one full time licensed code enforcement officer. This officer is responsible for inspecting every lot located inside the city limits, looking for compliance with city ordinances pertaining to:

  • Conservation
  • Maintenance
  • Rehabilitation
  • Safety of Existing Residential and Commercial Properties
  • Sanitation

The department monitors over 100 violations a month. To accomplish this, the city is divided into seventeen (17) zones and the inspections are done by driving every street in a zone until all zones have been inspected. Concerned citizens are encouraged to call and report possible violations.
