Operations
The Water and Sewer Utilities Department reports directly to the Community and Public Services Director. The Water and Sewer Utilities Department of the City of Jacksonville has responsibility for the operation of all the water and sewer systems in the City Limits, including:
- Collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of sewage
- Distribution of water
- Treatment
- Impoundment
Pretreatment Program
The Pretreatment program, a division of the Water and Sewer Utilities department, is charged with protecting the wastewater treatment and collection system of the City of Jacksonville. The Pretreatment program monitors and regulates the industrial pretreatment program and commercial grease waste.
