Fiscal Year 2017 - 2018 Adopted Budget
The City of Jacksonville adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for Maintenance and Operations than last year's tax rate.
The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.42 percent and will raise taxes for Maintenance and Operations on $100,000 home by approximately $20.50.

Lake Jacksonville Campground Reservation is now online!!!
The City of Jacksonville maintains the Lake Jacksonville Recreational area which is located about three miles from downtown Jacksonville and offers 1,325 acres of water. The lake is surrounded by homes and lovely East Texas scenery.
The Parks department maintains ten screened shelters, seven camping sites with water and electricity, and ten R.V. pads with water and electricity. There are three boat ramps on the lake and two public swimming areas. The camping area also has restroom facilities with showers for the campers.
Propane Cannon at Lake Jacksonville Campgrounds
Beginning the week of January 15, 2018 the parks department will begin using a propane cannon to try to scare away the Turkey Vultures that are invading the boat launch. The cannon will be used during the day several times a day over a 2 week period. The parks department will not use the cannon after sunset or before 7:30 am as to limit the disturbance to the surrounding citizens.
